Hello! My name is Andrew Spencer, and I’ve been writing professionally for over twenty years. I grew up in Dallas, Texas, and spent my high school years at Woodberry Forest School in Virginia. It was there that I met the woman I’d later marry, and today we live in Richmond, Virginia, with our three rescue dogs. When I’m not writing, I enjoy sailing on the Chesapeake Bay through my association with Fishing Bay Yacht Club, fishing in and around Richmond, and volunteering with the local SPCA.
I have a BA in English from the University of Texas, an MA in English from Baylor University, and a Ph.D. in Media, Art, and Text from Virginia Commonwealth University. To see a full accounting of my academic achievements, check out my academic CV.
Beyond the academic realm, I have a wealth of communications-related experience in virtually every medium and every professional area, including non-profit, private sector, news media, and government.
